Okay, so I realize the title of this post may be a small exaggeration.
I mean, obviously snow is good for a few things….
Like snow days…..
They’re pretty nice. I mean, I can’t really complain about snuggling up on the couch with the kiddos, watching movies, & wearing my pajamas all day.
And snow is PRETTY.
You can’t really deny that. I know I always love looking out my window and admiring a fresh snow fall.
And of course, there is sledding & building snowmen….
These things, I could personally pass on as an adult, but when you are a kid, they ARE pretty important.
And last, but not least, there is snow ice cream.
When made correctly….
Well, it’s just darn right delicious!
But for the most part, let’s face it….
Snow is just a total inconvenience.
Especially, this time of year.
I mean, it’s safe to say that we are all kinda OVER winter, right?!
This time of year, we are all pretty much longing for warmer temperatures & anxiously waiting for those first signs of spring….
To see our tulips popping up through the soil & the sun shining beyond the 5 o’clock hour.
I don’t know about you, but that’s definitely what I’ve been daydreaming about lately.
I have, however, found one additional use for snow.
Perhaps, the ONLY thing snow is REALLY good for….in February, that is.
It provides the most beautiful light for capturing some seriously adorable photos of your kids.
Even on a completely overcast day, the light reflects just perfectly off a blanket of snow.
It helps you to capture those toothless grins & those silly moments in the most beautiful way.
It makes you realize (as much as you don’t want it to be true), that your babies are growing up to be handsome little men.
It makes you want to STOP TIME.
And FREEZE them in their perfect little bodies.
It makes you want to cherish EVERY moment….
Yes, EVEN the temper tantrums & the all to familiar sound of “MOM….come wipe my butt” coming from the bathroom.
It makes you realize that those children who ABSOLUTELY exhaust you ….
Who drain you DAILY of your patience and sometimes even your sanity.
Are the SAME children who fill your heart with LOVE, and your days with LAUGHTER.
The same kids who can turn a terrible day into a not-so-bad day, just by simply squeezing your neck & saying “I love you.”
The children that make you never want to get pregnant again & make you contemplate 3rd child all in the SAME DAY.
I mean, who even knew the human brain could work that way?!
So, yes, the snow is good for a few things.
But mostly it reminds you that these hard days….are gonna be some of your BEST days.
And that even when you don’t feel like it….
You are the LUCKIEST MOM in the whole wide world!
