Hey Friends!!
Happy Hump Day!
I wanted to say “thank you” to my readers for making our Fall Progressive Dinner such a big hit! We really enjoyed putting it together & hope that you guys enjoyed it too! If you missed it, you can see all of the links HERE.
Today, I wanted to share some more fall decorating with you! Is that okay with y’all?!
It’s a little Fall Vignette of sorts….
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you may remember this little shelf that I bought at Kirkland’s a couple years ago. It hangs above the Craigslist dresser that I found & made over last year, which currently resides in our living room. After decorating our fall mantel this year, I had an abundance of hydrangea blooms left over. So, I thought“why not bring some into the living room to spread a little fall cheer?”
I honestly haven’t re-decorated the shelf too much since I bought it, so it was long overdue for some attention anyway! Many of the items that you will see on the shelf are usually there, they have just been changed a bit to make the shelf look a little more festive! 🙂
This picture frame was also a Kirkland’s find. I bought it at the same time that I bought the shelf. I just stuck a photo of the boys in it from last fall when we had our family photos done. It is one of my favorites of them together. They actually look like they love each other, don’t you think?!
I bought this distressed wooden box at Hobby Lobby a few years back. It normally hangs out on the shelf, but usually holds some glass bottles. I took the bottles out & added a few hydrangeas blooms inside.
You can see in this photo, that I moved the bottles up one shelf behind the “Faith, Family, Friends” sign. I love the pop of color that the insulator brings to the shelf. Don’t look too close though….I spy some dust! Keepin’ it real y’all! 🙂
I seriously adore this little vintage clock (again, it normally resides in this corner of the shelf), I found it at one of our local antique stores a couple years ago. You know how sometimes you just get tired of certain things & you want to change them out with something else? Well, I really don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this clock. There is just some about the tarnished metal & the character it has….obsessed!
Again, I just added some hydrangeas & sat a little white pumpkin on the shelf. Then I took multiple shots of the hydrangea bloom, because I just can’t help myself! 🙂 Seriously though….aren’t the colors beautiful?
You may also remember my dollar store tray turned chalkboard that I made last Christmas….
I used the “Happy Fall Y’all” printable from Nest of Posies to create some new chalk art for the little chalkboard. I couldn’t get the “Y’all” part to fit, so I’m gonna have to make do with just “Happy Fall.” I’m alright with that! I just used Kellie’s printable to trace the saying onto the board. If you want a tutorial on how to do that, just click HERE.
I’ve had this little chippy pitcher for as long as I can remember and I have no idea where I bought it! It’s cute though, right?! The monogram on the wall is just a wooden letter that I bought at Hobby Lobby & painted to match the rest of the decor.
So you can see, with just a few small changes, my little shelf is now “fall ready!”
What do you think?!
Are you digging the “decorating for fall without using fall colors” theme I have going on?! I always struggled decorating our home for fall since the house is full of “cool” tones. It’s so hard to bring in the reds, oranges, & yellows that you typically find in all of the home decor stores out there. I’m glad I’ve finally figured out a way to spread a little fall cheer inside our home! 🙂
How is your fall decorating coming along?! Are you finished?!
I still have a few little things to do outside, but for the most part, I am calling it DONE!!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope y’all have a wonderful day!

It looks cozy even if it is all cool tones! My mom has a bunch of insulators and they really are the prettiest blue color. We were going to get the decorations out this past weekend but ran out of time. Maybe this weekend? Maybe, ha!
I love this! The blue accents are unexpected for this season but I think I may jump on that bandwagon, it’s beautiful!
Your little shelf is perfect! and filled with lots of things I like…the white pitcher, the little crate, and hydrangeas!! Love it!
So cute. Beautiful job! The picture of your boys’ is so precious!!
I LOVE IT! I did my booth at the shop in blues, grays and creams (with a touch of black) for our Fall Show!
Glad to see someone else is thinking outside the box!!
I love the blues for fall. Such a cute display!
This is so beautiful, Tonya! I love that you did fall so well without it being all orange and yellow. Your colors are perfect and the styling is gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing!

Great post. LOVE the colors!!! -Michele @ Neat Little Nest
Very cute, Tonya! Love the little shelf and the colors. I went more neutral this year but this year am going all out with oranges, reds, yellows 🙂 Thankfully my living room has a brown, tan, cream base so I can add accents and it goes well. I went with more blues/teal in spring summer but easily added oranges and reds and corals in for fall 😉
