Hey Friends!!
I’m so excited to share the recipe for this Punch Bowl Cake with you today! This was another recipe I found while browsing through my mom’s cookbook a couple weeks ago. My mom said that she had gotten the recipe from a friend & she remembered that it was delicious!
It’s a layered dessert with made with fruit, pudding, cool whip, & angel food cake. It’s light and refreshing which makes it perfect for summer time!! 🙂
Ingredients:
1- box Angel Food Cake (prepared)
1- 16 oz container of cool whip
2- boxes vanilla flavored instant pudding (prepared)
2- pints strawberries
3- bananas
1- 20 oz can pineapple chunks
Directions:
Prepare angel food cake per box instructions. Let cool & then cut (or tear) into small pieces.
Prepare vanilla pudding per box instructions.
Layer ingredients as follows: 1/2 of angel food cake on bottom, then add 1/2 of pudding, add all of pineapple, add all bananas, add 1/2 of cool whip topping, add rest of cake, add rest of pudding, add all of strawberries, add rest of cool whip.
(To prepare in the trifle bowl, I only used about 3/4 of the cake total. I used only 1 pint of strawberries & 2 bananas. Everything else stayed the same.) Â
I hope you give this recipe a try! Enjoy!

Looks delicious — and even better in a mason jar! And I agree, so light and refreshing for summer! I’m absolutely saving this on my mason jar pin boards!

Tonya, I am ready to try your Punch Bowl Cake in the mason jars. I have just one question. Bananas tend to darken almost as soon as you slice them. For this make-ahead dessert, did you add anything to the banana slices to keep them yummy looking? Thanks for sharing. Pat.
Thanks Tonya, looks good and I’m going to make it!
Love this idea! Just wanted to let you know I included you in my round-up of 8 Mason Jar Recipes for Summer. Have a good one. 🙂 http://www.recipechatter.com/mason-jar-recipes-summer/
Please email me this trifle recipe as I don’t have a printer. Thanks.
