Spring/Easter Mantel 2013

Happy Sunday Friends!

Well, this week wraps up our Dog Dogs of Winter series!  I hope y’all have enjoyed these weekly challenges & parties as much as we have!! We truly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to link- up with us over these last 8 weeks! It’s been so fun checking out your guys’ fabulous creations! The theme for this week’s party is “Hop To It.” We are sharing all Easter inspired crafts, decor, recipes, etc.

My shelf in the kitchen had been looking pretty bare for the last couple of months….
Ok, truth be told…. it had been bare since Christmas! So sad, right?!

I decided it was time for a little Spring/Easter inspired mantel/vignette….

Well, what do you think?

I’ve got to say, this may be my favorite display yet…..or maybe a close second to my previous Christmas mantel. The baskets are my FAVORITE part and I wish I could take credit for the idea, but they were inspired by Lucy at Craftberry Bush.  I’ve been in love with her mantel from last fall since the day I laid eyes on it! You must check it out when you leave here! 🙂 Her mantel displays are always fabulous!

My second favorite thing about this vignette is this adorable Easter Chalk Art Printable that I downloaded & printed from Nest of Posies. I printed it on white cardstock & stuck it inside a frame I already had on hand. I pretty much love ALL chalk art and this one is no exception!

I borrowed these little white birds from my mom’s stash to sit on my shelf….cuz nothing says Spring like cute little birds! 🙂

To break things up a bit & add a little color to the display, I added my moss monogram to the wall. If you are interested in how I made the moss monogram, you can check out that tutorial HERE.

Spring Mantel Decorating Ideas

All of the baskets were found at our local Goodwill. They had a pretty good selection of shapes & sizes to choose from and they ranged in price from just 50 cents to $1.00!! Talk about a cheap way to add a big statement (and texture) to the wall…..love it!

Here is a side view….

I bought the little bird’s nest at Kirlands for just $3.99. Everything else you see on the shelf I had on hand, including these little faux plants I purchased at IKEA several months back. I have used these babies all over the house. If you ever go to IKEA, don’t pass them up! They are so versatile & so cute!

One last full shot of the display as whole…

I love the simple, natural color scheme with the pops of green throughout.  I don’t know about you all, but I am SO looking forward to Spring & things greening up outside! At least I can bring some green inside the home to hold me over for a little while longer! 🙂

Have you done any decorating for Spring/Easter?

  12. So nice! Love the simplicity of the baskets. I have the same IKEA plants. Perfect for me cause I just cannot keep plants alive and we have the worst sun in our home. I about died though when I found out my husband hand been watering it. He didn’t realize it was fake and he was trying to help me not “kill” it. Poor guy!
