So we showed you the renovation to the kitchen cabinets, but what about the kitchen eating areas……………….
You can’t just have a beautiful place to prepare food without a beautiful place to eat, right?
My mom has an eat-in kitchen and a seperate dining room. This is a shot of the eat-in kitchen…and yes, it looks like this everyday, not just for this picture! Kinda looks like something out of a magazine, huh? I know, sometimes its disgusting how perfect it all looks!
They don’t always eat at the kitchen table when its just her & my dad at home in the evenings, but when the whole family is there for dinner, we do eat here. We just take everything off the table to eat, and put it all back on when we are done! You might say…”What a pain in the butt!”….maybe, but you can’t say its not pretty!
Hey, who said having a beautiful home isn’t hard work?
This is an older table that my mom had, the legs on the table were originally a dark hunter green color, but she brightened it up with a fresh coat of white paint. The chairs that had come with the table were falling apart, so my mom decided to invest in some new chairs. These particular chairs were purchased through JcPenney. She found them in their outlet store online. If you go to JcPenney’s website & click on the “clearance” tab you will see a “shop outlet” option. They have some really great deals! She bought all six of these chairs for $180. Also, JcPenney often runs free shipping specials, just have to check the sight from time to time or sign up for their email & they will notify you of these specials.
This is a close-up of her table decor….she has a thing for rabbits! ๐ And yes, those are decorative cakes in the background which she made, but they aren’t real! They do however, completely match the kitchen decor & are adorable in person….maybe this will be the topic of another post in the future ๐
This is a shot of her hutch with her coordinating dishes…..
And on to the Dining Room…..
This table and chairs has been past down from generation to generation, it actually belonged to my great grandmother, and when she passed away, it got handed down to my mom. Again, my mom freshened it up with a coat of white paint! Are you seeing a trend here? Yes, she does a lot of painting….She also reupholstered the chair cushions & made little slip covers for the chair backs. More tablescaping (landscaping for your table)….with a little touch of fall using the pumpkins & color coordinated scarecrow ๐
