Hey Friends!
Happy Wednesday to you all!! 🙂
If you follow along on Facebook and/or Instagram, you probably know that we recently celebrated Griffin’s 4th birthday. It’s so hard to believe that my little man is four already! I swear I was just pregnant with him a few months ago! They say time flies as you get older, and after two kids, I can definitely say, that is SO TRUE!!Â
I hate it, BUT.IT.IS.TRUE!!
Each time another birthday approaches for one of the kids, the question always arises….
“What kind of party do you want to have?!”
After the “Monsters University” movie came out last year, Griffin turned into quite the “Monsters” fan, so it was no surprise when he told me he wanted to have a Monsters Inc Birthday Party! Â I have to say, after watching TONS of kids movies, the Monsters, Inc. movies are probably two of my favorites, so I was pretty happy with his choice! If it’s okay with you all, I thought I would share some party details with you today!
The first thing I always do after we decide on a party theme is to search Etsy for a printable party package. I know that I probably could have gone to Walmart and/or Party city to buy the party supplies, but to me, the printable parties always turn out so much cuter & I love that they can customize the package to include the name & the age of the child. That little bit of extra personalization just makes my heart happy! 🙂
The package that I decided on came from Funky Monkey Designs.  I absolutely loved the color scheme and well, she had me at polka dots! I just knew that these printables would make for an adorable party!
I always love getting my printables, cutting them out, & then seeing the party come together! I have to say, I was quite happy with how it turned out! Aren’t the colors so fun?!
For the cupcake display, I just grabbed an old cardboard box I had laying in the garage & wrapped it in a color coordinating paper. Then I just used some of the printables that came in the package to add some more color & tie things together. The turquoise chevron  table cloth is just fabric that I found at JoAnn’s.
I especially loved the cupcake wrappers & toppers from the party package. Â I’m telling ya, you just can’t go wrong with polka dots!
My mom & I made some “Mike Wazowski” oreo pops for the party.  You can find a tutorial for them HERE. Even though they were kinda messy & didn’t turn out picture perfect, I still thought they made a great addition to the table! The party guests really enjoyed them too….we had ZERO leftovers! The little “thank you” tags were such a cute added detail.
I was SUPER happy with how the “Sully” cake turned out!! Â I used a local friend & she did a fantastic job! She made both the cake & the cupcakes for the party. You can see more of her work HERE.
Another shot with more cake table details….love the pennant banner & the cute mini candy bar wrappers!!
I grabbed Griffin’s stuffed “Mike Wazowski” character & added him the table. I thought he looked pretty cute holding the sign!
And of course, no party is complete without some tissue paper pom-poms and some cute stripey straws! Am I right?!
I tried to get some cute shots of the birthday boy a few minutes before the party began, but he wasn’t too cooperative!  This shot was about as good as it was going to get!  Let’s just say he was a little too excited about the party & was ready to dig into the cake!  If you are wondering, the hat came from Party City & I found the Monsters shirt at Old Navy! 🙂
And that pretty much wraps up Griffin’s 4th birthday party!!
Since both of my boys have summer birthdays, I have almost a year until my next party planning adventure!
I must say, as much as I like a good party, after two birthday parties, a bridal shower, & a wedding this year, I AM READY FOR A BREAK!!!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by!! Â I hope you have a great week!
