Hey Everyone!!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Did you know that this week (May 5th-9th) is Teacher Appreciation Week?!
Every year, I always like to put together something special for Parker’s teacher. I have shared several easy DIY Teacher Gift Ideas on the blog before, but this one might be my favorite! What do you think?!
It all started with this adorable “Apple For Teacher Monogram Mason Jar Mug” that I found while shopping at our local Kirkland’s store.
When I saw it, I just KNEW that I had to have it for Parker’s teacher!
The question was, what was I gonna put in it?!
Then it hit me…..why not turn it into a vase & throw some beautiful red tulips inside?!
So I stopped by Walmart, I picked up a $5.00 bouquet of red tulips. Easy peasy!
The plain red bow just wasn’t doing anything for me, so I decided to take it off when I removed the tag. I had plans to replace it with a much cuter bow a little later. (p.s. when you removed the tag, save the little piece of twine that comes with it!)
Once the ribbon & tag were removed, I filled the mug up with water & added the little packet of free plant food that I came with the tulip bouquet. Then I cut the tulips to the desired length & started placing them one by one into the mug.
Looking pretty…..
Once I had the tulips arranged just the way I liked them, I added a cute, red & white, polka dot bow to the top of the vase. Much better than that plain red one, am I right?! You just can’t go wrong with polka dots!
I wanted to replace the little tag that came with the mug with a gift tag of some kind, so I whipped this chalkboard gift tag using PicMonkey and printed it on white cardstock.
Then, I simply cut it out & used the piece of twine that came with the mug & reattached it the the vase.
Cute, right?!
I just love how this little gift came together and the monogram mug/vase adds such a personal touch! His teacher should be able to use it in her classroom for years to come. It would be a great place to store pencils, pens, markers, etc!
And because I was feeling extra creative (and generous), I thought I would whip up a few more chalkboard gift tags to share with all of you!
To print the tags, simply follow THIS LINK. Go to “File” then select “Print.”

That chalkboard tag is just the cutest! I love the vase, too!!
Thanks so much Carrie!!
I love this! Is there any way I could get the tag revised (pay for it of course!)? I want to use it for class flowers so it would need to say us instead of me………
