Griffin’s Sock Monkey Party Recap…

Good Monday Morning To All Of You!!!
The big birthday weekend has come & gone and  my baby is now ONE year old!!
The sock monkey party turned out pretty cute!! I was really thrilled with all of the decorations & the way everything came together! This was my first experience ordering party printables through etsy instead of buying party supplies at the store & I must say, I will DEFINITELY do it this way from now on!!
Not only does it make for a really cute & personalized party, but its also really CHEAP!! I only spent $18.95 for the invitations & all of the printables!! I printed everything at home on cardstock I already had on hand, so I didn’t have any cost there either.  For more information on where I got the printables see this post.
WARNING: Be prepared for picture overload!!!
Hope you enjoy pics …
I used pictures from his 1 year photoshoot as part of the table decorations! I love the added color & personalized touch they gave to the table!
I decided to go with cupcakes for the guests as opposed to ordering a large sheetcake & then just ordered a small cake for the birthday boy! I just wrapped a couple of boxes that I already had on hand with some brown paper to display the cupcakes, added the ribbon to the top box, & then added his name with some brown cardstock & my cricut machine.
The argyle table runner was made by my talented mother & was the perfect added touch to the table decor!
I used some glass apothecary jars that I already had laying around the house & filled them with candy that matched the party colors to add even more color to the table as well! I had the brown & white polka dot ribbon left-over from another project & then made little labels & used the party printables to incorporate them into the decor.
I just love the way they turned out & I was surprised at how many people actually got into the candy throughout the duration of the party! I think this will definitely be part of my party decor from here on out!
The tissue paper pom-poms were probably my most favorite part of the party decor! They were so fun & easy to make! I will post a tutorial in the next couple of days to show you how to make some of your own!
The sun was hitting our sliding glass window behind the table right when the party was starting so I apologize for the glare in some of the photos! I must remember this for future party pics!!
I am going to quit talking and just let you look around some more…
We just had an easy dinner menu of hot dogs, pasta salad, baked beans, & chips for our guest!
It was low stress & DELICIOUS!!
A family friend of ours does cakes & made this adorable cake for Griffin to dig into!!
Soo cute!
The birthday boy’s chair!!
Griffin actually ran a fever for 3 days before his party, I thought he was just teething, but then yesterday he broke out in that classic roseola rash! So he was not quite up to par for his party! Now I know why!
Poor Baby!!
Which also explains why he was a little less than enthused with his birthday cake….
He didn’t quite “DIG IN” like I was hoping!!! Just a little sample & finger licking was the extent of the cake eating!
Just a few licks and he’s done…
And he wants out of his chair…
Like NOW!!!
Overall, the party was a success & my baby is officially on his way to becoming a
Big Boy! (Sniff, Sniff)
Thanks for Dropping By & Hope You Enjoyed the Party!!
Have a great week everyone!!
