Hey Friends!
I’m sure you all know there’s a big football game this weekend….I don’t know….something called the Super Bowl?!
Just kidding! Back before I had kids, I used to REALLY be into football. 🙂
Every Sunday, you could find me in front of a television cheering on the St. Louis Rams. Then two things happened….I had a baby & the Rams….well, they went from being “The Greatest Show on Turf” to being completely LOUSY!! The games were seriously painful to watch (and sometimes still are.)
These days, I find that I’m usually so preoccupied with keeping the boys occupied during the games (you know, so that my husband can watch the game in peace), that I rarely ever sit down to watch a game myself anymore. So, instead of being interested in the big game come Super Bowl Sunday, now I’m only really interested in the commercials and the food! Funny how things change!
Speaking of food, I have a delicious little appetizer that you’ll definitely want to add to your Super Bowl menu this weekend! This recipe for Neiman Marcus Dip is super quick to throw together & will surely be a favorite among your guests!
This recipe was given to me by a co-worker. She brings this dip into work almost every time we have a potluck. We all just call it “that yummy cheese dip that Robin makes”, but I did a little research online & actually discovered it’s real name. I’m still not sure why it’s called Neiman Marcus Dip, but if any of you know….please let me know in the comments section below!
- 4 Cups Shredded Cheese - Cheddar or Mix Blend
- 1 Cup Chopped Green Onions
- 1 Cup Slivered Almonds
- 1 pkg of Real Bacon Pieces
- 2 Cups Mayonnaise
- Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve with Ritz crackers. Would also be good with Fritos scoops and/or tortilla chips.
Are you hosting a Super Bowl party this year?! What’s on your menu?
Will you be a cheering on team or hanging out by the food table & scoping out the commercial breaks like me?
As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit!
I hope you have a blessed day!

Thank you for sharing! I need to make this! 🙂 It looks very delicious~
Does this have bacon in it also?
Hi Karen!
Thank you SO MUCH for pointing that out!! I don’t know how I left that out of the ingredients list! Yes, 1 pkg of REAL Bacon Pieces or you could fry & crumble real bacon should you choose to do so.
Does this also call for corn?!
Hi Tonya
some ingredients were missing from the picture shown so I added 2 cups of frozen sweet corn, real bacon, jalapenos, and 1 cup of mayo instead of 2 cup. I also had this dip warm instead of cold. It was a hit :)!
this looks like a yummy dip!
This looks amazing! I’m sure it would be devoured in our house!
This is my favorite dip recipe but have never seen it listed online before. Glad to see you do put bacon in yours too.
This sounds delicious. I have made something similar with sour cream and sans the green onions. I can’t wait to give this one a try.
Just wanted to let you know we call this bunco Dip. But not that much Mayonnaise and serve it with Frito’s large chips. It’s habit forming
A great hit with the family even the young children. Thanks for sharing this.
I just made this for the first time!! It is amazing!!! Can’t wait to try it for our next party and it’s so easy!! Thank you for posting it!!
Love the dip! Made it for the super bowl and adults and kids loved it! Can you email me how to pin it on pinterest?
found out why it’s called Neiman Marcus Dip:
” in 1953 Neiman Marcus opened a restaurant at their flagship store in Dallas, TX called the Zodiac Room.”
also there are the Neiman Marcus Cookbook and Neiman Marcus Taste: Timeless American Recipes books that have some of the other recipes gleaned from their restaurant.
I tried to rate this five stars!!! I love it! It’s rich flavor gives it its name!
I made this for a sweet 16 party, with one small change. Instead of serving as a dip, I put it in wraps and made pinwheels. They were gone before anyone else. Everyone loved them!
Does this call for real Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
My recipe says real mayonaisse
Do you toast the almond sliver?
I was at a party yesterday and someone brought this dip as an appetizer. It’s not the healthiest thing to eat, but I have to say it was delicious.
